NuCube Energy:
Nuclear Made Simple

A New Approach To Nuclear Energy
The U.S. demand for electricity is expected to grow 15-20% in the next decade and could double by 2050.

This demand is largely driven by data centers that consumed about 4.4% of total U.S. electricity in 2023 and are expected to consume approximately 6.7 to 12% of total U.S. electricity by 2028. (Sources: https://liftoff.energy.gov | Electricity Demand Growth Resource Hub | Department of Energy).

In 2023, nearly 9 quadrillion BTU (2637 TWh) of energy was used in the United States for industrial process heat (IPH), which is about 30% of industrial energy use. The installation of 264 GW/year over the next 2 decades (2030-2050) will be required to fully decarbonize IPH.

Without Nuclear We Cannot Achieve A Zero-carbon Economy

Nuclear energy will play a key role in decarbonization of otherwise difficult to abate sectors such as heat for industrial processes and electricity generation for remote communities. Renewable electrical power can play a significant role in decarbonizing portions of the electrical grid, such as residential and commercial buildings and light transportation, but other technologies are needed to reduce fossil fuels in remote areas and for heavy industrial applications.

Nuclear energy is one of the safest, most cost-effective, and environmentally friendly sources of energy. It provides 24-7 power with life cycle greenhouse gas emissions 40 times lower than natural gas and 4 times lower than utility-scale solar. reference Integrating nuclear energy into the clean energy mix is essential for tackling the toughest decarbonization challenges required to attain a sustainable low-carbon future.
